Yet another smoothie recipe! I don't often use banana because I'm not really a big fan of the taste but the addition in this smoothie gave a really nice smooth consistency and the raspberry and passionfruit flavours were a great combination. Smoothies are so easy - you just blend all the ingredients up together and they are incredibly versatile, enabling you to use pretty much whatever you have available. So for this smoothie I just blended together 1 banana, 1 cup frozen raspberries, 3 heaped tbs greek yoghurt and about 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk. I then stirred through the pulp of a fresh passionfruit and added a swirl of honey to the top. Bananas are great for aiding digestion as they are rich in pectin, which aids in removing toxins and heavy metals from the body. The high levels of tryptophan (which is converted into serotonin) present in bananas means that they may aid in overcoming depression. There are also numerous other health benefits related to the high potassium, low sodium, energy, vitamin B6 content of bananas.
