Smoothies are such a refreshing and nourishing way to start the day. I love that it is so easy to mix and match to create different flavours and you can add different supplements, additional protein and nuts/seeds/muesli to increase the nutritional value. The frozen mango and acai powder in this smoothie was a delicious way to kick-off my day!
- 3/4 cup frozen mango chunks
- 2 heaped tsp acai powder
- 3/4 cup almond milk
- 3 heaped tbs natural yoghurt
- Simple add all ingredients to a blender and mix until it forms a smooth consistency.
- Pour into a glass and drink as is or add whatever you feel like as a topping
Although more research needs to be conducted in regards to the health benefits of acai it has been established that is a rich source of antioxidants. Antioxidants are great for destroying free radicals that would otherwise cause harmful cellular damage. The acai powder also creates a lovely flavour when combined with the mango.
