This was my pretty breakfast yesterday morning. Not only did it look and taste amazing but it also super healthy and the rose water gave it a beautiful aroma. To make I simply combined 1/3 cup whole oats, 1/2 cup water, 1/4 cup almond milk, 1 tsp rose water and 1/2 cup frozen raspberries in a small saucepan over medium heat. Continue stirring until the porridge is cooked to your liking. I then topped with fresh chopped strawberries, almonds and honey. Porridge is an ideal way to kick start your day. The whole oats are packed full of fibre, which are great for keeping you feeling full and satisfied, preventing you from overeating. The addition of the berries and nuts also increases the fibre content. The oats are also a great source of complex carbohydrates, giving you long lasting energy. Porridge may also be beneficial for oxygen transport, immunity, strong bones and muscle recovery because it is a good source of iron, vitamin A, calcium and phosphorus.
