I whipped this up as a little after-dinner dessert yesterday after a craving for something sweet. I have never used rose water before but its definitely going to become a staple for me now - I absolutely loved the taste and flowery aroma!
- About 1/2 cup homemade granola
- 100g Greek yoghurt
- 1 tbs rosewater
- 1 1/2 tsp honey
- In a small bowl combine the yoghurt, rosewater and honey until you get a smooth consistency
- In a glass alternate between laying yoghurt and granola
And thats it! I could definitely have another one of these now.
Greek yoghurt is a great snack - it is high in protein with almost double the amount of regular yoghurts. It is also great for people trying to be mindful of their carbohydrate intake as it contains fewer carbohydrates - this is particularily useful for diabetics. Greek yoghurt also contains significantly more calcium and less sodium than regular yoghurt.
Rosewater is rich in tannins, flavonoids, antioxidants and essential vitamins including A, C, D, E and B3. Research also indicates that it may relieve nervous tension and enhance mood.
