I've been wanting to try making an acai bowl for quite a while and I'm so glad I did. It has a unique flavour but sweet and delicious. Topped with my homemade cinnamon and vanilla granola was the perfect way to top it off. For the acai bowl I blended together a 100g unsweetened acai smoothie pack, 1/2 a banana, 1 tsp honey, 1/2 cup raspberries and some coconut water. I then topped with my homemade granola, goji berries, chia seeds and almonds. Acai contains the powerful antioxidants anthocyanins and flavonoids. These antioxidants aid in neutralising free radicals in the body, which otherwise contribute to ageing and disease. As with other berries they also have a high water content and therefore may be beneficial for people trying to loose weight.
